1.

Sundown Interactive Communications Corporation designed and developed the interfaces and all of it’s content.

Course Content:

Sundown used certified WHMIS, Fork-lift and TDG trainers to develop those topics as well as consulting with Health & Safety specialists during the development of all other courses.

2.
Do the program courses comply as a certified training course in Canada?

The WHMIS, Fork-lift Truck and TDG courses have been designed according to the requirements of the Federal and Provincial regulations.

Fork-lift has also been designed according to the CSA Standards.

Other courses are not regulatory in nature but reflect opinions of organizations and consultants in their respective fields.

3.

What are the training requirements for WHMIS?

WHMIS legislation requires that anyone “who works” with or works in “proximity to” a controlled product must receive proper training.

4.
How often does a worker need to be trained in WHMIS?

There is no specific time frame stated by the legislation, however, it does state that workers must know and be able to apply the information” when working.

If a worker has been transferred to another area where different controlled products are being used, they should be retrained on those products.

Inspector’s and consultant’s strongly recommend annual refresher training on WHMIS because the courts have ruled in many cases that trainingevery 2 or 3 years is not sufficient and does not provide "due diligence". It always depends upon the judge ruling on the case.

7.
What type of internet hook-up does WebWSIT require?

WebWSIT works best with a high speed internet connection although the administration portion will function almost the same on dial-up.

Dial-up for the training portion of the platform is generally thought to be too slow as the information is delivered in “Flash” movies that
must be sent through the internet as the trainee proceeds.

You should write an “Internet Access Policy” and post it in highly visible areas so all workers can see it.

In addition, you should provide a copy to each employee and have them acknowledge, by signature, that they have read it and understand it.

Internet Policies should contain firm language regarding the repercussions of internet abuse including the possibility of dismissal.

Sundown can help you with the development of your Policy.
